Prof. LIAN Tianquan from Emory University Visits FJIRSM

At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Prof. LIAN Tianquan from Emory University, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on June 2,2010. During his stay, Prof. LIAN delivered a seminar report entitled “Ultrafast charge transfer dynamics in photovoltaic and photocatalytic nanomaterials” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Prof. LIAN got his B.S. from Xiamen University in 1985, M.S. from Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1988; and his Ph. D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993; He did his postdoctoral work in the University of California at Berkeley during the period of 1994-1996. Currently, his research efforts are focused on the preparation, characterization and fundamental understanding of photovoltaic and photocatalytic nanomaterials. His particular interests are fundamental dynamical processes in the materials and their interfaces (such as charge transfer, solvation, energy transfer and relaxation) which are not only essential to their functions, but also relevant to many other materials and applications.
