At the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials Chemistry and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Prof. HONG Haiping from the Department of Material and Metallurgical Engineering, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on September 21，2010. During his stay, Prof. HONG delivered a seminar report entitled “CARBON NANO MATERIAL APPLICATIONS: GREASE, FLUID AND REINFORCE MEMBRANE” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

　  Prof. HONG had been studying for his Ph.D in Isreal and USA since 1994. Now he is working as a research professor and doctoral supervisor at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. For over 10 years, Prof. HONG’s research efforts in the USA have been focusing on carbon nano-materials, organic light-emitting diodeand crystal materials. So far he has published more than 60 research papers in some internationally well-known periodicals including Advance Material, JACS, JAP. Meanwhile, he has succeeded in getting four US patents.
