简介:

Professor Xinliang Feng joined the group of Prof. K. Müllen at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research for PhD in September 2004, where he obtained his PhD degree in April 2008. Since December 2007, he was appointed as group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. And since 2011, he became an adjunct distinguished professor at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was appointed as the director for the Institute of Advanced Organic Materials. Up to now, as author and co-author, Professor Xinliang Feng has more than 500 scientific papers published in international refereed journals including Science, Nature Materials, Nature Chemistry, Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and Energy Environ. Sci. etc., which are cited over 43000 times.

In this lecture, our recent efforts on the top-down exfoliation of graphite and bottom-up synthesis of structurally well-defined graphene will be presented. Towards the synthesis of emerging organic 2D materials, we will present our recent developments on the synthetic approaches towards 2D conducting/conjugated polymers and supramolecular polymers with structural control at the atomic/molecular-level as well as at the meso-scale. The rational processing and assembly of graphene and 2D materials provide the access to novel hierarchical structures and hybrid systems with different complexities. As the result, we will present some prominent applications with using graphene and organic 2D materials as well as their hybrids across the fields of electronics, fuel cells, supercapacitors and micro-supercapacitors as well as batteries.
