本组现有成员8人，其中正研，副研各一人，博士两人。
林平 男 ，1969年6月出生，副研究员。
1. 教育背景：
1987年9月至1991年7月，厦门大学化学系本科生，获理学学士学位。
2001年3月至2006年1月，英国纽卡斯尔大学（University of Newcastle）博士研究生，获理学博士学位。
2. 进修、工作背景：
1991年8月-1994年4月，中科院福建物质结构研究所催化实验室陈彰明和黄当睦老师课题组从事催化化学研究。
1994，5-2001，2加入福建物质结构研究所结构化学实验室吴新涛院士课题组，从事无机化学研究， 1998年12月晋升助理研究员。
2001，3－2006,1在英国纽卡斯尔大学化学系攻读博士学位（导师： Richard A. Henderson 教授) 。从事的主要科学研究工作涉及钼－硫原子簇和超分子化合物、金属催化有机环加成反应和无机反应动力学机理的研究。用动力学方法研究钼－硫－铜簇合物中有机硫配体与氰根配体之间的取代机理。
在学其间，利用钼原子上的端氧配体与相对亲氧的过渡金属离子配位，组装钼－硫簇合物，探索了获得大的钼－硫簇合物以及在亲氧过渡金属超分子聚合物骨架上组装钼－硫簇合物的新方法。研究了过渡金属离子的协同作用下，于温和条件合成吡啶四唑的方法。此外，合成了系列含多种吡啶腈的银、铜超分子聚合物，了解其组装规律，并初步研究了其半导体性能。
2006年2月回国至中科院福建物质结构研究所从事无机化学研究工作，任副研究员。
1997年至今，在国际（SCI系列）学术刊物发表了三十二篇论文，
